ABOUT – etherbaby started in the bedroom of 15 year old Swiss/Ghanaian producer / singer / songwriter Elodie Graf. Etherbaby is a mix of many influences: jazz, synthpop, alt-R&B, bedroom pop, psychedelia and electronic music among others. The project is marked by her deeply emotional, expansive voice, underpinned by warm, nostalgic synth heavy production. She has been compared to Florence Welch in terms of vocal delivery, and to the likes of Blood Orange and Lorde in terms of production style.
Her EP “Don’t Be Yourself, Be Happy”, was released on June 18th 2021, and is composed mostly of songs written between 2016-2018. The EP is a vulnerable teenage exploration of the yearning for freedom – from painful relationships, loneliness and from the baggage of the self.
Up until 2020 she was releasing music as “elodie” which was more acoustic / jazz based. She has previously worked as a songwriter with NYC based indie artist Walia.
Her singles have been featured on playlists such as Disco Goth’s “Synthpop Comeback” A1234’s “Tracks Daily” Her third single, as well as an interview were featured on the Canadian music blog “Secret Eclectic”.
Her single Angel of Neptune was released in 2022 -
a captivating song that blends dreamy, ethereal soundscapes with introspective lyrics. The song features lush, atmospheric production, characterized by layered synths, reverb-drenched guitars, and gentle, soothing vocals. Its mood is contemplative and otherworldly, evoking a sense of floating or drifting through a serene, cosmic landscape. The lyrics explore themes of introspection, emotional depth, and a longing for understanding or connection.
Her follow up Nothing is as beautiful as a dream and it hurts to even try was released in 2023 - a stripped back jazz influenced / piano based project which explores themes of disconnection, escapism and longing.
Then came a short ghostly dissociative synth EP called fragile (Jan 2025) then her second album (Feb 2025) called “Swan in Angel Costume” , guitar based, which explores performativity, shame and complex love.
This was followed by another EP in July 2025 called “for the Ghost I Love the Most”, a dreamy guitar based EP that deals with family history, trauma, spirituality and the commodification of beauty and what it costs.
Elodie is currently completing her BA in fine art at Central Saint Martins, she also maintains an art practice that centers on the same themes.
